Description

Our second-degree full-time Computer Science programme lasts 2 years (IV semesters). Graduates receive a master's degree (magister in Polish) after completion of a diploma thesis and a succesfull diploma defence. One of the main objectives of the programme is to educate highly qualified graduates who are able to skillfully adjust to the changing needs of the job market.
Obligatory courses offered in the study program:
Modelling and Analysis of IT Systems, Advanced Databases, Global Optimization, Big Data: Processing and Analysis of Large Data Sets, Introduction to Fuzzy Modelling and Analysis, Rule-based and Expert Systems, Massively Parallel Computations, Deep Learning, Security of Data and IT Systems, Advanced Algorithms and Data Structures, Management of IT Projects, Internet Applications Design, Virtual Technologies and Containers, Data Serialization Formats, Mobile Technologies , Internet Data Analysis, Internet Frameworks, Mobile Applications Programming, Network Programming

Graduate profile
Graduates of the second-degree programme are expected to be qualified to independently solve IT problems and apply IT solutions to selected technological and social fields. They should possess in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of modern mobile technologies, design and programming of Internet and mobile applications, programming in a network environment, Internet data analysis, and multimedia processing. Graduates are also expected to have general knowledge of social issues facilitating interpersonal communication.
Graduates can find employment as programmers’ team leaders, software designers and engineers, administrators of IT systems, network architects, or data protection and security specialists. They should be prepared to work in institutions with various business profiles that use modern IT solutions. In particular, in software development enterprises, in IT consulting companies, in the modern technologies and financial sector, as well as to conduct academic work at universities. They can also take up third-degree (doctoral) studies.

Admission rules
The following will be taken into account in the admission procedure:
- a first-cycle diploma in information technology or a first-cycle diploma (a second-cycle diploma or long-cycle master's degree) in fields of science, natural sciences or engineering and technical sciences where the leading discipline is computer science or information technology and telecommunications, or in fields of study where the share of the disciplines: computer science or information technology and telecommunications is at least 40%,
- the arithmetic mean of the grades from the studies.
Documents
- a personal questionnaire (downloaded from the IRK),
- an application form for a student ID (downloaded from the IRK),
- a secondary school graduation certificate or a higher education diploma (together with apostille/legalised and their translation),
- an ID (e.g. passport or residence permit) – to present during an inspection,
- document confirming the knowledge of a English language at least at B1 level confirmed by a certificate, a diploma of graduation or a confirmation from the university obtained during the recruitment process that the candidate's knowledge of a foreign language is sufficient for them to study in that language;
- Candidates are exempted from having to produce the document when:
- the foreign language was the language of instruction at the secondary school or completed university programme,
- the foreign language is their mother tongue,
- the candidate passed the maturity exam in a foreign language at extended level with a minimum of 80% score,
- the candidate passed a foreign language examination at B1 level during their studies and this is shown in the diploma supplement,
- a medical certificate stating that there are no contraindications to study in fields where students are exposed to harmful, strenuous or hazardous factors to health,
- evidence of possession:
- a health insurance policy for a given academic year of education in Poland, or
- The European Health Insurance Card, or
- public health insurance, or
- confirmation of the insurer's coverage of the costs of treatment on the territory of the Republic of Poland for a minimum amount of €30,000,
and in the absence of the documents referred to in points 1-4, he/she will declare that a copy will be provided before the first class begins,
- consent of parents or legal guardians to take up studies in the case of minors.
If the candidate's documents are submitted by a third party, he/she should present a power of attorney to submit the documents and his/her own identity document and a copy of the candidate's identity card for inspection.
